Introduction
The Ferrari F80 is set to be the next revolutionary hypercar in Ferrari’s legacy, debuting as an ultra-limited model with production starting in 2025. Only 799 units will be made, each expected to sell for over $4 million.
At the core of this engineering marvel is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 hybrid powertrain, delivering a combined output of 1,200 horsepower, making it the most powerful road car Ferrari has ever produced. The internal combustion engine itself produces 900 horsepower, while the remaining power comes from three electric motors—two mounted on the front axle and one at the rear. This hybrid setup is derived from Ferrari’s experience in Formula 1 and endurance racing, giving the F80 unprecedented performance on both road and track.
The F80 accelerates from 0-62 mph in an astounding 2.15 seconds and boasts a top speed of over 217 mph. Key performance features include active aerodynamics, torque vectoring, and regenerative braking, ensuring not only high-speed stability but also excellent handling and energy efficiency. Ferrari has also integrated electric turbos and a dynamic limiter to manage power delivery, allowing the V6 engine to rev up to 9,000 rpm.
Aerodynamics play a major role in the F80’s design. Its lightweight carbon-fiber chassis is sculpted for downforce, with an active rear wing and butterfly doors that add both function and flair. Ferrari's goal is to provide maximum driving performance while maintaining some comfort in the car’s 1+ seating configuration, which places the passenger slightly behind the driver for optimal cockpit design.
The car will feature a bespoke steering wheel, an advanced suspension system with 48V actuators, and the latest in track-focused aerodynamics. Expected to mark Ferrari’s 80th anniversary in 2027, the F80 is being hailed as a defining model for the future of hybrid supercars. - Article will be updated as more information is released by Ferrari.
